In this book, nine stories illustrate the questions of Kriss Valentin, a (fictional) saxophonist in search of beauty and truth. Through his artistic and philosophical gaze, he offers us a singular reinterpretation of ordinary situations. The album evokes moments of inspiration, reflection, poetry, but above all universal questions. Each story leads to an original composition written by the main character of the comic strip, composition that can be found on the CD inside the book. Six designers from the Bordeaux region took part in the project: Marion Rigal, Fabien Doulut, Sébastien Chevalier, Claude Cachin, Fabrice Tribes and Julien Mariolle. Their styles and their very varied universes give changing features to the main character and install different atmospheres, to lead to a formidable graphic achievement. On the musical level, we find a diversity of styles (jazz, blues, impressionist music...) and instrumental configurations. Giordano Muto (soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones) has surrounded himself for this project with Pierre Cherbero (piano, moog), Ludovic Guichard (guitars), Ziad Ben Youssef (oud, percussion), Damien Bachère (tuba) and José Vicente da Silva (drums, vibraphone). "When you buy a collection of Kriss Valentin, you are potentially buying a transversal event: a concert with real musicians, an exhibition with the boards of the artists, an educational opening with the apprentice musicians and the possibility of intervention by the project manager. in art schools. About twenty prints have indeed been taken from the boards to be exhibited. This project also gave rise to a fifteen-hour musical show where a storyteller, Ana Maria Venegas, joins the musicians on stage. This transversal creation aims in particular to democratize access to culture by reaching a wide audience, that of music and art schools, but also that of media libraries and festivals!
